Implementation of Novel Technology for renewable energy
Eboroil's roots track back to 1977 when Anthony Patrick Haynes founded Eboroil SA (ESA) to provide technical and financial project management and consultancy
In 1995/8, ESA had received contracts from Genciu Nafta and Minijos Nafta in Lithuania and the developments involved organising oil sales to make the projects viable. Jet pumps were employed and an underbalanced sand jetting of one well for Genciu Nafta resulted in a thousand fold increase in production. For Minijos Nafta, production increased from 1,100 bopd to 11,500 bopd by underbalanced drilling where one well increased production 17 times from 200 bopd to 3,500 bopd between an Over Balanced leg and an Under Balanced leg.
One of the oil buyers in Lithuania introduced the Udmurt Oil Company to the management and led to the formation of a new company in 1999 to deal with projects in the CIS.
Eboroil Udmurtia Inc (EUI) was founded to handle the development of the three fields in Udmurtia with ESA receiving an agreement to provide the management and providing $85 million of finance. The original project was shelved after Sidanco bought 80% of the client and therefore EUI (now re-named EborEnergy Ltd. Inc.) has started to look for other projects.
At the same time, Mr Haynes patented the concept of performing offshore underbalanced drilling from a dynamically positioned tanker that led to the formation of Multi Operational Service Tankers Inc (MOST). The UK Authorities approved an Environmental Impact Statement in 2005 after a 90 day public hearing period and it is expected that this field will go into production 2012/13. The technology allowed the recoverable reserve to be increased by a factor of 2 over the field lifetime. The company was given a 50% interest in block 9/21 containing the Skipper field in the UK 25th Licence Round.
EborEnergy Ltd. Inc is registered in Panama and we have received approaches to get involved in hydropower projects there. As a result, it is being considered to rename the company EborRenewables with Eborpower Ltd., Gibraltar as a 90% subsidiary and it is intended to set up two new companies on the Isle of Man, EborEnergy Ltd. and EborTechnology Ltd. Thus there will be three companies and are designed to attract different types of investor – conventional oil and gas, unconventional oil projects and renewables.
While the administration has remained in Switzerland, ESA was wound up with no external liabilities in 2005. Now incorporated in the Isle of Man, Eboroil Limited is the holding company for Mr Haynes's family and some Swiss investors.
Mr Haynes has negotiated the corner-stone to float the four companies on the stock market in 2008. Firstly a frame agreement was signed in March with a major oil company to sell the production from its projects based on netback value of the oil. i.e. based on the yields and product values. Secondly on 15th May 2008, the Swiss investors committed to a 20 year USD 600 million Financing Facility. Further fundings are proposed for tar sands developments.
The Project Companies
It is planned to get listings for four companies in the period 2009-2013:
- EborEnergy IOM Ltd
- EborRenewables Inc, Panama
- EborTechnology IOM Ltd
- Multi Operational Service Tankers Inc., Panama
EborEnergy Ltd
EborEnergy Ltd will concentrate on conventional oil and gas development and its first projects are in the Europe, North Sea and Ireland.
EborEnergy has put in applications to be awarded 50% of two licences in the 25th UK Round on proven oil and gas and due to environmental hearings the awards are expected late summer. All three projects are with an experienced US operator. Our proprietary technology and 30 year track record of successfully implementing novel solutions bring added value to the projects.
EborRenewables Inc
EborRenewables Inc will push forward with conventional hydropower in Panama and the development of projects generating electricity from unidirectional currents and wave energy.
Eborpower will concentrate on generating electricity from unidirectional currents. Discussions with turbine manufacturers have started and it is expected the Group’s project finance expertise will allow the first project to be realised in 2011/12. An application to measure currents at the first site has been submitted and the programme should start shortly.
Development of a world-wide patent on generating electricity from wave energy has started and discussions on co-operations to build the plant have commenced. The main advantage of the concept is that it will use proven generators and be able to withstand 100 year storms without high costs. Limerick University already has funds to support such a project from the Charles Parsons Initiative where Eboroil was involved in the application. Further co-operations to make it a Pan-European project with several locations to implement the concept is realistic but it is thought that initial testing would be done in UK.
EborTechnology Ltd IOM
This should lead to projects generating diesel distillates (Ebordiesel process) from waste and Refinery Residuals, and oil shale and tar sands.
In April 2008 EborEnergy acquired 25% of a Technical Evaluation Agreement with Perupetro on the Chumpi licence where it will have first option on 25% of the concession. It is estimated that the field has 3.4 billion barrels of resources and our process does not require gas or water as per the current operations in Canada. A drilling programme is scheduled for next year and from the initial tests of samples it appears that it may be possible to convert the recovered hydrocarbons to diesel distillates. It is expected that we will ask Perupetro to agree to test production in 2010.
Other projects related to enhanced oil recovery and producing diesel distillate from plastic waste are being pursued.

Research
From 1975 until 1991, Mr Haynes sponsored research at Birmingham University and in Canada. These projects included pumping analysis for the Thistle SALM installation, epoxy resin development for pipeline coatings repair and low temperature applications, drilling fluid polymers, underwater wet welding, clean coal technology, waste treatment in Russia, ship design to break a path in ice wider than the ship, hovercraft development to break ice, amphibious lifeboats and transient zone seismic units.
Approaches are being made to sponsor a number of 7-year fellowships in UK for the period 2009-2016. It is expected that the awards will be subject to the Group getting locations and permissions to implement the projects. The areas of interest for these fellowships are in platform chemicals from biomass such as bagasse and wood chippings, conversion of waste plastics to diesel, generator design and construction, electricity storage, and the conversion of coal in-situ to generate electricity. Also research in recovering gold from mine tailings is being considered in China, West Africa and in the US. The names EborWaste, EborMetals and EborCoal have been reserved.
In 2008 for the third year in a row, Eboroil sponsored University of Limerick Athletics team against the Ivy League Universities, this time Brown and Dartmouth and are supporting UL on projects being undertaken in conjunction with the Charles Parsons Initiative.
Summary
Our business is to make money by selling energy and commodities. As of today, Eboroil has significant uncommitted credit to use as equity to turn all the investments into profitable projects.

In 1980 Eboroil entered into the Executive Inter-Change programme with the Canadian Government and received the Deputy Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources on secondment for three years in Europe. Later it led to being involved in the Hibernia grant package and a joint venture with Canarctic Shipping. With the renewed interest in the Arctic, opportunities to use the technology developed in the Canarctic will be sought. Similar alliances are sought again in Canada and elsewhere.
If you represent a Government Agency who want inward ideas, investment and technology to become self-sufficient in energy, please contact Eboroil through the contacts page. We are willing to review how our technology and track record of researching and implementing novel technology might assist a regional or national plan.
